Hello everyone, I am excited to share with you this technical article that aims to help improve our understanding and skills. This article covers “How to Access Company VPN,” providing step-by-step instructions and useful tips to help you configure the VPN. I hope you will find this article informative and valuable. What is the VPN?

VPN, or virtual private network, is a secure tunnel between your device and the internet. VPNs can securely connect a user to a company’s internal network or to the public Internet. Businesses typically use a VPN to give remote employees access to internal applications and data, or to create a single shared network between multiple office locations.


First of all, jump to the part “To set up Simply Benefits VPN on Windows:” if you are using Window OS

To set up Simply Benefits VPN on macOS

Option #1: Go to System Settings > VPN

Option #2: Click the magnifying glass search icon at the top and navigate to the “VPN” configuration page.

Click the Add VPN Configuration

Interface: VPN

Interface type: L2TP over IPSec

Service name: Simply VPN (optional)

Configuration: Default.

Server Address: (Please find it on your Keeper Security).

Account Name: (Your company email address, which ends with @simplybenefits.ca).

In authentication settings: 

User Authentication : Password (Type)

Password : (Please find it on your Keeper Security)

Machine Authentication: 

Shared Secret: (Please find it on your Keeper Security)

In advanced…:

check “Send all traffic over VPN connection”

Press apply.

Please connect your workstation to your hotspot if you are connected to the office network. Ensure that the device providing the hotspot is NOT connected to the Simply Benefits WiFi network. 

To set up Simply Benefits VPN on Windows:

Go to Settings > Click on Network & Internet on the left menu bar.

Select VPN

Click ‘Add VPN

Configuration Part 1

VPN Provider : Windows built in

Connection Name : Simply VPN (Your choice)

Server name or address : (Please find it on your Keeper Security) 

VPN Type > L2TP/IPsec with pre shared key

Shared Key: (Please find it on your Keeper Security)

Type Of Sign In : Username and Password

Configuration Part 2

Username : Your SB email

Password : (Please find it on your Keeper Security)

Please ensure that you double-check the “Network Status” on your device and confirm its current status by following the steps below.

Go To “Control Panel” > “View network status and tasks”

“Change Adapter Settings”

Right Click VPN you created and select Properties

Click “Security” tab

Click “Advanced settings” to double-check whether the pre-shared key has been inserted.

If it has not been inserted, please enter the “Pre-shared Key” again.

Shared Key: (Please find it on your Keeper Security)

Note: Adding the first time does not always work. You may need to delete the VPN entry and redo. Should work on the second attempt if filled out correctly.
